D1 Dryer — maintenance

Routine maintenance keeps the D1 running efficiently and prevents overheating or feeding issues.

Maintenance schedule

Check blower outlet tube for kinks or blockages	Before each print session
Inspect rear ventilation grille — keep clear of dust and debris	Weekly
Empty and wipe tank between material changes	At every material change
Check blower mounting screws for looseness	After first week, then monthly
Inspect power cable for damage	Monthly

Ventilation grille

The rear panel of the D1 has a ventilation grille for the blower motor. Keep this area clear:

Do not push the D1 flush against a wall — leave at least 10–15 cm clearance behind the unit
Do not store items against the rear panel
If the blower motor feels hot to the touch (painful to hold briefly for 1–2 seconds), the airflow is likely restricted — check the outlet tube and the rear grille

Outlet tube

The grey corrugated tube carries hot dry air from the blower to the hopper. Check it regularly:

Ensure the tube is not kinked, especially if the D1 has been moved
Ensure the tube is firmly seated at both ends (blower outlet and hopper inlet)
Any gap in the connection reduces G1 vacuum efficiency

Tank cleaning

When changing materials, empty the tank completely:

Turn off the D1 and allow it to cool to room temperature
Open the tank access port or lid (depending on D1 version)
Remove all remaining pellets
Wipe the interior with a dry cloth to remove dust and fines
Allow the tank to air out before loading the next material

Cross-contamination between materials (especially between colored and natural) can affect print appearance.

Blower module screws

The blower module vibrates during operation. After the first week of use, check that the 4 mounting screws are still tight. Use a cordless drill/driver or manual screwdriver. Do not overtighten — the blower housing is plastic.
