Hardware components of the G1 pellet printer, grouped by subsystem.
Electronics
Section titled “Electronics”- Emergency stop button — red mushroom safety switch, under the display on the panel box
- Power outlets (power box) — the three power-box sockets (Forced / Feeding / Bed) and their assignments
- Klipper MCU extruder_board — custom Ginger board (heater relays, bed SSR, fans, probe servo); not the extruder breakout
- Raspberry Pi and SD card — host computer, flashing G1OS, undervoltage issues
- Panel Box wiring — the 14 harness wires (1 = POWER), extruder breakout, UP/MID/DOWN labels
- Power supply 24V — 24V 40A industrial PSU inside the power box, split-phase in US, failure symptoms
Extruder
Section titled “Extruder”- Multi-Heating Zones — three independent heated zones (Feeding / Melting / Nozzle)
- Main extruder motor — large stepper driving the screw, 3A, 80°C normal temp
- Extruder screw — auger inside barrel, cleaning, clog causes, removal procedure
- Nozzle set — interchangeable nozzles 1 / 1.8 / 3 / 5 / 8 mm, layer height rules, replacement procedure
- Temperature sensor NTC 100k — thermistor on each heating zone, specs, replacement
- Heater cartridge — heating element per zone, failure signs, replacement
- Max Volumetric Speed — MVS, the limit on how fast the extruder can deliver plastic
- Pressure Advance — see Pressure Advance tuning
Feeding system
Section titled “Feeding system”- Hopper — pellet container above the extruder
- Vacuum pump — sucks pellets from the bucket to the hopper
- Corrugated tube — connects bucket to hopper, max 1.5 m, seal inspection
- Hopper extender — accessory for manual pellet refill, multicolor top-up
Bed system
Section titled “Bed system”- Bed heater — 220V resistive element (~2000W), SSR-controlled, bed socket, 40–90°C range
- Bed surface — glass 6mm, adhesion per material, alternative surfaces
- Bed leveling system — auto-leveling probe and method
Mechanics
Section titled “Mechanics”- Frame — aluminum structure, squareness check (±2 mm diagonals), frame bolts
- Belts and pulleys — GT2 belts (Y axis), chain drive (X axis), tensioning, pulleys
- Z lead screws — vertical motion, lubrication, collar adjustment
- Linear rails — XY guidance plus the Z axis, lubrication, alignment
Auxiliary
Section titled “Auxiliary”- Dryer — pellet hopper dryer, models, temperatures, connection to hopper
- Camera — USB webcam, add via Mainsail dashboard, Obico for remote monitoring
